Hyperintensive Cultures

Shrimp aquaculture is a dynamic global industry in which daily appears new farming techniques and technologies that increase productivity, reduce costs and in some cases minimize diseases transmission risks.

Mexico dominates the semi-intensive traditional cultures based on big water exchanges or intensive culture based in aeration, with the common feature that both technics are performed on open and big land extensions. However, these production patterns are not going to be eventually in accordance with future challenges and requirements of the industry in matter of sustainability, market prices and disease control.

Shrimp industry in Mexico has to move towards to the best environmentally responsible techniques, higher efficiency rates and better biosecurity systems. As a result of more than 6 years of research and experimental practices, Mahr Group have developed a hyper-intensive microbiotics culture technique implemented in two greenhouses hectares, with the main advantages of biosafety and increasing productivity.
